In addition to providing quality construction work, J. F. Fischer, Inc. boasts a Service Department to address a number of service issues related to construction, including 365 emergency mechanical and plumbing services, refrigeration, HVACR preventative service and maintenance, warranty calls, equipment and systems start-up, troubleshooting and commissioning, and more. Our goal is always to ensure that our clients’ mechanical systems are functioning perfectly both inside and out.

J. F. Fischer, Inc. serves all regions throughout the State of Maryland, Southern Pennsylvania, Delaware, Northern Virginia, and Washington DC. Our headquarters are located in Baltimore, Maryland which includes a state of the art fabrication facility as well as a Coordination/BIM department located in close proximity from our job sites, ensuring our experienced project management team is best able to deliver fabricated piping systems and equipment in a timely manner.

Founding History

As a young man, John F. Fischer decided to follow his father, Frederick A. Fischer’s career path and become a Plumber/Pipefitter.

In 1959, John started his Apprenticeship with Plumbers UA Local 48. Over the course of his five year apprenticeship, he worked for several companies including The Poole and Kent Corporation, H. E. Crook Co., Inc., J. W. Merchant and Riggs Distler until forming his own company in 1973.

With John operating from a home office with a part-time Secretary, Plumber Charles W. Crouse was hired to work on the company’s first account, The Johns Hopkins Hospital.

In 1976, the home office was moved to a commercial property on Hazelwood Avenue, which included a fabrication shop.

In 1983, a large office and storage/fabrication shop area was acquired on Pulaski Highway. At this time, the company had grown to an office staff of eighteen and seventy-five Plumbers/Pipefitters working on various job sites throughout the Baltimore Metropolitan area.

In 1994, J. F. Fischer, Inc. purchased Power & Combustion, Inc. along with their office building and warehouse/fabrication shop and moved to the current location on Philadelphia Road in Baltimore, Maryland. Today, with a staff of forty-three office personnel and over two hundred Plumbers/Pipefitters and Service Technicians, J. F. Fischer, Inc. is ready to bring excellence to your next project!
